Female empowerment and opportunities for women and girls in Sierra Leone
The Koinadugu District Women’s Network (KDWN) in collaboration with Medicos Del Mundo, implemented a project titled: Female empowerment and opportunities for women and girls in Sierra Leone. It aims to support extremely vulnerable women and girls in improving their socio-economic well-being. The beneficiaries participated in skills training programs designed to equip them with practical knowledge for alternative livelihoods. At the end of the training, participants received start-up kits to support their small businesses and generate income for themselves and their families. This support is expected to strengthen their economic independence, reduce vulnerability, and enhance their resilience within their communities. The project reflects the commitment of KDWN and Medicos Del Mundo to promoting women’s empowerment, dignity, and sustainable livelihoods for women and girls in Sierra Leone.
